Who We Are

We are called to WIN the lost to Jesus, SERVE the poor and less fortunate, and INSPIRE God's People. It is the very core of who we are and what we are passionate about doing.

Win The Lost

At the heart of our mission is a relentless passion to see lives transformed by the Gospel. Through citywide campaigns, grassroots outreaches, and equipping local evangelists, we are reaching those who have never heard. Every decision for Christ is not just a number — it’s a soul rescued, a life forever changed, and a light ignited to shine for generations.

Serve The Poor

We believe love must be lived, not just spoken. That’s why A Light to the Nations stands with the poor and vulnerable — bringing food, education, and hope to those who need it most. From war-torn regions to villages scarred by poverty, we meet urgent needs while building long-term sustainability, always through the local church.

Inspire God's People

We believe the church is called to live in the fullness of the Spirit — bold, passionate, and unafraid. By inspiring believers to see themselves as Christ sees them, we equip the church to stand strong and transform communities.

Our History

Get to know more about what makes us different

The story of A Light to the Nations began in the summer of 1984. After completing a cross-country run from Plymouth Rock, MA, to Los Angeles, CA, to promote the Year of the Bible during the Olympics, our founder, Dana Morey, was driving home through the desert. Late one night, alone in an old pickup truck, Dana sensed the voice of God stirring in his heart: “Begin a ministry to tell the world about the wonderful love of Jesus.”

When he asked the Lord what to call it, the answer came through one of his dearest passages of Scripture, Isaiah 42:5–7. Pulling to the side of the road, he opened his Bible and read the words: “I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the nations, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon and those who dwell in darkness.”

"From that moment, the calling was clear. The name was not just a title, but a destiny."

Since then, A Light to the Nations has existed to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, minister to the poor and hurting, and inspire the church to rise up in boldness. Using the resources God provides, we are committed to winning souls, serving the needy, and equipping believers to become everything God has designed them to be. This is not just what we do — it is who we are.

Our beliefs

Here are some of our general beliefs and basic doctrines which are central to our Christian faith

The Bible
We believe the bible is the complete, inspired, and authoritative Word of God; without error in the original writings. We believe the bible is the final authority of all truth and should be used by all believers to guide them in both faith and life.
The Trinity
We believe there is one true God revealed in three distinct, eternal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
God The Father
We believe that God is the creator of all things. He upholds, sustains, and rules over His creation. We believe God knows all things, including the free choices of all moral agents, both angelic and human, and that he truly hears and answers prayers.
Jesus
We believe in the divine nature of Jesus and that He is the only begotten Son of God; both fully God and fully man. We accept the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus as facts; that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, performed many miracles, died on a cross, and rose from the dead three days later. We believe He sent us His Spirit which enables the believer to live in His fullness and power; giving the body of believers the ability to do greater things than He did while on the earth.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. God desires to express the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. This power, through the Spirit, among other things, is used for holy living, sharing of our faith, and the effective use of our spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit reveals God’s love, convicts humanity of their sin, and imparts spiritual life through regeneration new birth through salvation. The spirit indwells, sanctifies, leads, and empowers believers for Godly living and service. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, empowering them for supernatural ministry including healing, deliverance, prophecy, and all true ministry.
Salvation
We believe in Christ’s sacrificial death which paid the price for mankind’s sin. We believe salvation is a free gift from God, available to all people. There is only one way to salvation, and that is through the precious, atoning blood of Jesus Christ through regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Through belief in Christ and repentance of our sins, we can receive eternal life. Those who do not believe will be eternally destroyed.
The Gospel
We believe the Gospel is the good news of what God has accomplished for sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, ushering the Kingdom of God into the world and waging war against the Kingdom of Satan. Every believer has been commissioned to proclaim the Gospel. It is the foundation for the life of the Church and our only hope for eternal life. We believe the Gospel is never fully communicated in words alone, but must also be demonstrated in power, just as Jesus and the early Church modeled for us.
Supernatural Living
We believe that the ministry of the Spirit in signs and wonders continues to be as broad, tangible, and powerful among believers today as it was in the early church. We also believe that all the biblical gifts of the Spirit continue to be distributed by the Spirit today; that these gifts are divine provisions central to spiritual growth and effective ministry and living; and that these gifts are to be eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly exercised according to biblical guidelines.
